My latest big project is complete and installed in the Blanchard student art gallery!
I still need to name it so give me ideas!
Oil paint, pastel, walnut ink, canvas, handmade paper from abaca and corn husk fiber, wood, and saw dust on a muslin-stretched frame.
The end of the semester is so soon :/
I started my final piece for my advanced studio class last night! I’ve been slowly working on ideas and prepping my canvas, but last night I finally got to it! I drew out my idea with some pastels to break the scary white canvas barrier and started nailing some scrap wood on it so I force myself to work out into the sculptural realm as I continue to work on it.
This is a steel and glass piece I made last spring. At the time I was dealing with ideas of disease and disfigurement and this one in particular was inspired by atherosclerosis and aging!
